A Surprise

As I was crawling over rocks alone the Lake Superior shoreline one evening. I looked down ahead of me . There before me was an ancient lava flow like it was yesterday. Incredible.

I set up the camera equipment among the rocks. It was a quiet evening, The sun was on the horizon soon to disappear. Not before it went out in a blaze of glory. As I was photographing everything turned to red.

Bassfin Lake 2

Bassfin Lake 2

Once again Bassfin Lake. The same location.

Different day with different lighting.

There is nice cloud cover.

I used the reflections on the water to the right as a lead in to the photo depth. Also for added dimension.

Bassfin Lake

Bassfin Lake is located in the Sudbury area.

You travel the Matagamasi Lake Road .

This is an interesting lake to photograph for its colorful rock structures.

Every trip I made here I appeared to be the only person on the lake

The best photographing was in the evening in low light.

Then the colors became warm and beautiful

Wolf Lake

This area is home to old growth Red Pine

Only 1.2% of the world’s old growth Red Pine forests remain.
The largest is in Ontario, Canada surrounding Wolf Lake.

Glacially sculpted white quartzite cliffs surround Wolf Lake and are prevalent throughout this adjacent Temagami area.

OSA Lake, late evening

OSA Lake, Killarney Provincial Park

This is the same location as the photo in previous post.

The above photo was taken at a later time that evening

The sun is now very low as you can see the sunlight slashing the mountainside as a beam

The foreground is now darker now that the sun is been blocked by trees and rocks on the left

Killarney Lake Entrance

We had passed through this location a number of times over the years

I always liked what I saw.

Therefore I finally said lets plan a trip to photograph the that location.

We were always passing through in the middle of the day, onward to other locations.

We set up camp close by .

Here we were on a beautiful evening to capture the landscape.
