Spring has come and gone
The rainy season is over
Summer has arrived
In the mountains of Nicaragua
Beautiful warm sunny days
The land has become parched
Leaves have fallen
Over the dry land
It is summer here in Nicaragua now. But like everywhere else in the world, the weather patterns have been messed up. Lately there has been plenty of rain, bringing cooler temperatures. It has been a week now since I finally made it out for some photographic fun. It was a beautiful warm sunny day. A little late in the morning for the best lighting. The haze was a little annoying to deal with.
It was on a Monday past that I was joined by a good Nica friend. I had secured his services the day before. We topped off his motorcycle with gas. Then away we went cruising through the mountains. It had been many years since I traveled by motorcycle.
I was attracted by a rock knob on the mountain top as shown in the photo. The lush greens of the landscape is long gone. Replaced by parched earth. There is tremendous depth here in the photo. From foreground to background you are given a sense of depth vertically and horizontally. You will see buildings in the left corner of photo. They give you the sense scale to the whole composition. The rock knob is only a portion of my composition, but is there. I allowed the sky to be half of the photo. Thus a sense of overall vastness that are the mountains. In this type of work I want you to envision the feeling of a 3D feel.
I will close now, till next week. So until next week happy trails
Buscando el Cielo
( Looking For Heaven )
Como me acuesto en la cama
Cubierto en la oscuridad
De noche
La noche suena más allá
La ventana
Tengo que pensar en el cielo
Tal vez he estado buscando
En todos los lugares equivocados
Pensé un poco más
me pregunto
Donde esta el cielo
Está más allá
Las estrellas
Tal vez debajo de mis pies
Pero cuando miro
Las profundidades de mi amor
Ojos café oscuro
Tengo esa sensación
Que he encontrado
Mi cielo
Veo paz y tranquilidad
Un amor tan profundo
Mi alma está en reposo
Mi corazón se regocija
Porque ahí está mi cielo
Profundo en esos ojos marrones oscuros

Deja – vu All Over Again
Got me a red Mustang
Wrapped around me
Cruising down the blacktop
Doing a hundred and twenty
Far away stars lighting
My world
The landscape blurring behind me
As the night draws down
I can’t get her
Out of my mind
Her image haunts me
Like a dark shadow
My mind is tormented
My mind is in a fog
For the love.. for the love
Of a girl
Deja – vu all over again
The burdens and weaknesses
It is a road not taken
For the love of a girl
Deja-vu….
Deja – vu all over again
Deja – vu all over again
The tenderness of being loved
To feel the love, freely given
Light as a feather
Deep as the sea…
Waiting on a Sunday
To feel the love
To promise you
All of my tomorrows
The landscape blurring behind me
Just me and my mustang
Lost in thought
Waiting on a Sunday
Concepcion Volcano, Ometepe Island, Nicaragua
To watch the cloud movement around a volcano is an experience to behold. You could watch this for hours and the scene will constantly change.
I captured this cloud formation with just the peak showing. It appears like an island in the mist.
That is it for now. Happy trails
Sunday Morning Blues
I woke up on a Sunday morning
I dreamed of you last night
That you were by my side
In the darkness of night
Sharing our love together
But I look around me
I am all alone
Just me and a memory
I get that lonesome feeling
The Sunday morning blues
Pretty lady, I love you
Pretty lady, I miss you
Pretty lady, I need you
All I seek is to hold your hand
In the darkness of night
To feel the warmth of your love
But to just to know
That you are there
Pretty lady, I love you
Pretty lady, I miss you
Pretty lady, I need you
Just thinking of you
As I lay awake
That Sunday morning
I know in my heart
That dreams come true
Ah, the joy of photographing. I boarded the bus in Matagalpa heading to Jinotaga. Looking to capture the beauty of the Nicaragua mountains. I have traveled this route many times, so where to photograph was not a problem. My goal was to find a stretch of highway to walk along and capture as many locations as possible. It is now the rainy season here. The landscapes are lush and green now. If you look closely you will discover many shades of green. Earth tones are abundant.
As you observe this mountainous landscape, you will find there is a great deal of depth both vertically and horizontally. This will greatly enhance your 2D photo, allowing to create the 3D effect with the right composition.
The bus slowly crept up the mountain taking on passengers and discharging passengers. My jump off point soon arrived and off I went. Just me and the birds in the folds of the mountains. Quiet and peaceful. The beauty of the land before you. It makes you feel pretty small in a place like this. One of the big issues I had this morning was haze. You just have to take it in stride. As I was strolling along I observed this nice framed scene. I captured this particular image for its dramatic effects.
Well that is it for this week. There will be more to come. So until next time happy trails.
Miss You
Sitting alone, all alone
My mind goes to you
I see your winsome smile
The sparkle in your eyes
The way you look at me
The way you touch me
That is what you have
Done to me
Far or near, I miss you
When your light shines
On me
I am a man in love
When your light shines
On me
I am a man in love
A man in love
Miss You
You are always there
In my mind
When I am alone
When the blues come
My mind goes to you
That is the way of it
Sitting alone, all alone
My mind goes to you
I see your winsome smile
The sparkle in your eyes
The way you look at me
The way you touch me
When your light shines
On me
I am a man in love
A man in love
Miss you
The mountains cast in black
Deep shadows until dawn
The wind now a murmur
The birds gone to roost
The last of the evening light
Casting the billowing clouds
In a golden array
The clouds ever changing
Creating art for the imagination
Of fertile minds
But then the darkness intrudes
The light slowly fades
With the last rays of light
The stars become brilliant
In the far heavens
