I put your picture

Beside my bed

Your sunny smile

Your sparkling eyes

I still can’t get you

Out of my mind

Our love ran deep

For one another

You were just 21

I was only 24

When we sealed our love

With a vow of marriage

We had two beautiful children

The grandchildren came

Along with our golden years

To bring joy into our lives

They always ask me about you

Upon seeing your picture

I tell them that you are in heaven

That she sends her love

When my days are blue

I just look at your picture

Memories Are Forever

Memories are forever

Of a love long gone

A love that was cherished

A love we thought

Was forever

I am old in time now

Standing at the meadows edge

I close my eyes,the past returns

A warm summer night

Many ages ago

The glory of heaven

Cast its beauty upon us

As we sat, side by side

At the meadow’s edge

Her head upon my shoulder

The reflecting star light

Sparkles, on the dew drenched grass

Before us, long time ago

The milky way above us

Splashed across the heavens

Her raven black hair

Touched with the starlight

Her eyes lost in the shadows

Arm in arm we sat

At the meadows edge

Not a word was spoken

Enjoying our closeness

Her lips so soft and sweet

Her fingers so tender

Under the glory of heaven

Memories are forever
