Pukaskwa National Park. Rugged and wild.
A trip back in time. I am going through my files looking for unpublished photos.
I spent a number of summers alone the great Lake Superior. A great learning experience. Geography, History, Geology and many other things.
This is a very early morning shot . The rugged rocky shoreline. A touch of color

When we explored Gibson BC we headed to the beach to explore. My niece April and I sauntered along slowly enjoying the sun and smell of the Pacific Ocean.
It was late afternoon. I looked at the rock formation and plant life to be found at the end of the beach. There was very strong lighting here causing problems. I used the tree branches to help block the sunlight as much as possible. But I managed to capture the lighting highlighting some of the structure to make the scene more interesting.Green and yellow are the dominating colors here.

Beautiful Lake Minnewanka. In Banff National Park, Alberta.

The mountains in the background. Rocky shoreline. A point of land with color. This allowed me to create this composition. The photo had originally been posted in color.

The winds were blowing out the North yesterday at a brisk pace. The town of Jinotega, Nicaragua is nestled down in a valley surrounded by the mountains. This event occurred on the Eastern side of Jinotega on the mountain slopes.
It is a common practice that occurs every year in March to set fires to burn the vegetation. It is a very dry time of year as you can see by the color of the grass. No homes were burnt.
AS a photo opportunity I saw some potential. Grabbing my camera I headed to a small hill. Jinotega is infested with wires crisscrossing the streets. So being on the hill eliminated that problem. There is a gully running the side of the mountain here that gave some depth and a focal point. Three trees surrounded by smoke and fire on the edge of the gully add to the element of this composition. Then I added a few casa at the bottom to present a sense of danger. Will the wind shift to the East and send the fire roaring through the homes

This composition was a creation from the South end of Bow Lake. You can see what I believe is a glacier. My brother will correct me on that. But what ever it is it sure stands out.

Bob and I drove to Marysville, BC to photograph a small waterfalls. It is located on Mark Creek. It is just a short walk on a boardwalk path. Marysville Falls is a 30 meter waterfalls.
We did not spend much time here. The rain came, so I quickly captured the above scene.

Coldwater Bay is part of the Lake Superior Coastal Trail. The bay is located within Lake Superior Provincial Park.

Thank you Pierre for use of your painting. It inspired this poem
When I’m walking with Trees
A forgotten path beckons
Through an ancient forest
Covered in lichen and moss
When I’m walking with trees
My body is relaxing
My energy is flowing
My soul becomes of the forest
As I listen, to the forest sounds
The air is calm
The morning sunlight filtering
On the forest floor dancing
When I’m walking with trees
When I’m walking with trees
My body is relaxing
My energy is flowing
The path twists and turns
Over time worn rock
I have this feeling
Being watched from above
A light appears ahead
As closer I walk
The light it intensifies
Then before my eyes, fading
I hear a song
As I walk along
It is the trees whispering
A hush voice singing
A gentle caress upon my cheek
It is the morning breeze
Cool and fresh, a lover’s touch
When I’m walking with trees
When I’m walking with trees
My body is relaxing
My energy is flowing
The trees appear to nod
As I pass by
The air is clear
The sounds I hear
The brush of a branch
Gently upon my shoulder
It has been awhile
For now I smile
