Lake Superior Provincial Park
A windy stormy day
Sinclair Cove, Lake Superior
A dark moody day
Great lighting
In 2014 I spent a great deal of time exploring the shorelines of Lake Superior in Ontario.
I was attracted by this formation of rock with its covering of moss. To get the best detail and color I photographed in the late evenings
Pukaskwa National Park. Rugged and wild.
A trip back in time. I am going through my files looking for unpublished photos.
I spent a number of summers alone the great Lake Superior. A great learning experience. Geography, History, Geology and many other things.
This is a very early morning shot . The rugged rocky shoreline. A touch of color
Coldwater Bay is part of the Lake Superior Coastal Trail. The bay is located within Lake Superior Provincial Park.
Mica Bay, Lake Superior. This was one of my enjoyable evenings spent exploring the shoreline of Mica Bay, Lake Superior.
The evening was becoming late as I observed this scene. The lake was rolling gently. The exposure would be long. That would create a dreamy affect on the water. More so in the foreground. I cast around for a suitable collection of rocks at the water’s edge. The composition soon came together in my mind. I set my tripod as low as I could set it. Therefore, allowing me to create an illusion of less water. To tighten the composition I shot vertically. Too much water would spoil the effect of the composition.
I stretched out on the beach. Being eye level showed me my composition as I wanted it. Thus I was able to create my scene.
This is a very late evening shot. Thus the slow shutter sped. This creates the effect of smoothing the look of the water surging into shore. The predominant colours here are blue and white. This creates a sense of peace and serenity. It is a very calming piece to look at. Throw in some rock and shoreline to give added contrast and change of Color. It will open your senses to want to be able to listen to the sounds surrounding you. Use your imagination.
So, till next time happy trails.
Bittersweet Memories
You walked out the door
You never said a word
You never came back
All you left
Was bittersweet memories
You never came back
You never came back
You filled my life
With the sound of your laughter
The smile you gave me
Like a candle in the dark
But all you left
Was bittersweet memories
You never came back
You never came back
The house is empty
My life is empty
The walls are silent
Your voice and laughter
Just a memory
All you left
Is bittersweet memories
I listen for the sound
Of your footsteps
But I know
You will never come back
You will never come back
All you left
Is bittersweet memories
You never came back
You never came back

Sitting on a riverbank
Just me and my girl
The stars are shining
Like diamonds in heaven
The moon is sparkling
On the river’s surface
No wind is blowing
We are sitting, side by side
Holding hands
Stealing a kiss
Now and then
Just me and my girl
We talked about tomorrow
We talked about forever
And more
Rejoicing in our love
Being so young
Just me and my girl
We had not a care
In the world
Basking in the glow
Of our love
With the stars above
Just me and my girl
To be so young
To be so innocent
We talked about tomorrow
We talked about forever
And more
Just me and my girl
