The Jinotega Series1- Repairman

I was strolling the streets of Jinotega, Nicaragua looking for photo subjects. Just ahead of me was a gentleman repairing electrical motors. I asked if I may photograph him. With a smile I was giving permission. The result was this beautiful photo capturing him in action.

The Streets Of Jinotaga-Football

Every evening before dark, a group of young men play football in front of my house. They are nice lads. Friendly. I grabbed my camera and headed outdoors. One will stand in front of a wall. He is the goalie. Across the street the ball is set up for the shot. The objective is to put the ball pass the goalie and hit the wall. If the goalie stops the shot he gets another chance at stopping the ball. If not the lad that scores becomes the goalie.

Thus I was able to capture some action shots that evening.

Let The Day Be Ours

Let The Day Be Ours

I know you don’t

Love me

Stay awhile

Enjoy the day

We are just

Two lonely people

Always searching

For that one love

Come

Take my hand

Why don’t you stay

We can enjoy the day

Let this day be ours

We were lovers

So long ago

But got lost in time

So why don’t you stay…

Yesterday, yesterday…

Was so long ago

Tomorrow too far away

Let the day be ours

We could love again

Forget about yesterday

Just enjoy the day

Then maybe tomorrow

Why don’t you

Come home to stay

We will find a way

To share our love

I know you don’t

Love me

Stay awhile

Enjoy the day

Come

Take my hand

Why don’t you stay

We can enjoy the day

Let this day be ours

We are just

Two lonely people

Always searching

For that one love

Beautiful Warm Sunny Days

Spring has come and gone

The rainy season is over

Summer has arrived

In the mountains of Nicaragua

Beautiful warm sunny days

The land has become parched

Leaves have fallen

Over the dry land

Brown Eyes Crying

Brown Eyes Crying

Brown eyes crying

In the dark

Drifting forever

On a sea of tears

A long times gone

Just drifting forever

Through endless nights

On a sea of tears

Brown eyes crying

On a sea of tears

Drifting forever

As is the past

Like the mist

Has crept over her

Forlorn and blue

Our love never

Had a chance

It was like a sad song

With never any wrong

A love in a mist

In a sea of tears

We could never exist

In hearts gone cold

Brown eyes crying

In the dark

Drifting forever

On a sea of tears

A long times gone

Just drifting forever

Through endless nights

On a sea of tears

Brown eyes crying

On a sea of tears

Drifting forever

Brown eyes crying

On a sea of tears

Drifting forever

Through The Mountains

It is summer here in Nicaragua now. But like everywhere else in the world, the weather patterns have been messed up. Lately there has been plenty of rain, bringing cooler temperatures. It has been a week now since I finally made it out for some photographic fun. It was a beautiful warm sunny day. A little late in the morning for the best lighting. The haze was a little annoying to deal with.

It was on a Monday past that I was joined by a good Nica friend. I had secured his services the day before. We topped off his motorcycle with gas. Then away we went cruising through the mountains. It had been many years since I traveled by motorcycle.

I was attracted by a rock knob on the mountain top as shown in the photo. The lush greens of the landscape is long gone. Replaced by parched earth. There is tremendous depth here in the photo. From foreground to background you are given a sense of depth vertically and horizontally. You will see buildings in the left corner of photo. They give you the sense scale to the whole composition. The rock knob is only a portion of my composition, but is there. I allowed the sky to be half of the photo. Thus a sense of overall vastness that are the mountains. In this type of work I want you to envision the feeling of a 3D feel.

I will close now, till next week. So until next week happy trails
