Somewhere in Banff

Banff_3749

We were driving along the highway in Banff National Park in Alberta. There were many scenes to admire as we drove along. This particular scene was eye catching.

Late Fall Snow

Bow Lake, Banff National Park

Banff_3761

Bow Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta. Bow Lake is approximately 30 minutes north of Lake Louise, off the Icefields Parkway (Hwy 93) in the Canadian Rockies and a half mile north of the Crowfoot Glacier. Sitting at an elevation of 1,920 m (6,300 ft), it is one of the largest lakes in Banff National Park. Fed by meltwater from the Bow Glacier in the Wapta Icefield, the lake lies at the base of Bow Summit, which is perfectly reflected in its aquamarine waters on a calm day. hashtaglake hashtagphotography hashtaglake hashtagcomposition hashtagmountain hashtagAlberta hashtagbanffnationalpark hashtagkenbennison hashtagBowLake hashtagscenery hashtagBow Glacier

Tumbling Stones

Banff_3688

I was attracted to what looked like scattered pieces of rock. There is a break between the peaks. Therefore I set up a composition using the break in the peaks to emphasize the flow of rock pieces on the snow. The location is the Bow Lake area in Banff National Park, Alberta.

Some Where In The Mountains

Look Up

Banff_3904a

I had just finished a couple hours photographing along the Minniwanka Lake shorelines. I was walking back to the car lot. I looked up to a magnificent view of a mountain peak.

The various layers of this mountain are well define. To compose this composition I used the roadside trees to guide your eyes to the main subject, the mountain peak.

Bow Lake Area

This composition was a creation from the South end of Bow Lake. You can see what I believe is a glacier. My brother will correct me on that. But what ever it is it sure stands out.
